Sapiosexual, origin of desire: What does it mean?

What is attractive about a person? The answer for everyone is totally different. Obviously it is usually the physique, especially when you don’t know the person yet. But there are other things that can be attractive to other people. One example is a new term that is becoming popular, sapiosexual.

It can be complicated to seduce a person because there is nothing written about tastes. Because, these things, are neither chosen nor thought, they just come up. But it happens, above all, when what attracts a person is his or her inner self. Their intelligence, their way of being, speaking and relating. What to do then?

We must fuck the minds

A well-known quote from Martin (Hache). It refers to a deeper question, where does pleasure and desire originate? A good body is capable of seducing a person. But, as the quote continued, it is even better if behind it there is an interesting mind to know. Perhaps the origin and the beginning of what is now the definition of a sapiosexual person.

sapiosexual

Something that has been questioned for many, many years. And the fact is that in each person it varies and it can be that something that makes it emerge. Because although many people may reduce it all basically to the physical and the body, it is not usually so.

The truth is that, although it depends on each one, it is very difficult to limit yourself to sex only because of someone’s physique. It can be the result of a crazy night with a happy ending but that’s it. Even in the situation of fuck buddies and friends with rights it is usually sex, some communication and a bond of friendship.

The term sapiosexual comes from “sapere” which means something like “to be wise” and sexual. So, it refers to all people who have a weakness for intelligence in addition to physique or gender.

Is a woman more likely to be sapiosexual?

Following the line of those who believe that women are more complex than men, it is possible that this is true. Men are usually more eager to have sex and their member is ready earlier than in the case of women.

Because a woman can be turned on by a body but there has to be something beyond that. The female gender is known to base their desires and satisfaction on something deeper than just a body. Men are said to be very visual. That is to say that visual as well as physical stimuli are very strong and can provoke great arousal.

In contrast, for women, they are more likely to be considered sapiosexual. Why is that? Because they are usually more auditive. This means that words can seduce and arouse them more than a good body.

Although that doesn’t mean that any other gender can’t be sapiosexual. It is not exclusive to females.

Being sapiosexual and other myths

The brain is one of the main sexual organs. It is capable of recreating fantasies and creating all kinds of thoughts and even states of mind. For once or for the initial stages of desire, the body and the physical are important.

But to move forward, something else is often needed. This is the case with sapiosexual people. Contrary to the popular belief, they are only attracted to highly intellectual people who have read many books. They are simply more interested in the inner than the physical, which remains in the background.

That is, being able to be interesting and know about things that interest the sapiosexual person. Even the singers Thalia and Lali sing a song called Lindo pero bruto which says: “You have a hard body and a blank brain, why don’t you read a little book once in a while?”.

Nor is it something that has to do with sexual orientation. This means that independently of being sapiosexual, one can be homosexual, bisexual, straight, etc. at the same time.

In brief

There are billions of people in the world and they are all different. Each one likes and enjoys certain things, has certain hobbies, concerns, interests… And simply being sapiosexual is only a part of it. It means that it may be more interesting and desirable what another might know, believe, think and opine than what their measures are, for example.

It is important to be able to discover oneself in order to explore sexuality fully and freely. Knowing the origin of one’s desire and what causes arousal only opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities and opportunities to explore and enjoy.
