Skokka speaks out for women this 25th of November: Standing for safety and respect

This 25th of November, at Skokka we raise our voice with strength and responsibility. This day is not merely another date on the calendar, but an urgent reminder of the harm that many women face every single day. We cannot look the other way.

Every 25N brings back the bitter feeling of having to confront the difficult reality that so many women live daily: constant pressure that affects hundreds of thousands, even millions, around the world.

A reality that represents only the tip of the iceberg of a situation impacting innumerable women globally.

Women who shoulder domestic and caregiving responsibilities, who face demands that restrict their autonomy, and who navigate situations that undermine their confidence and sense of self-worth.

And if these stories are not heard, how can anyone be moved by the everyday mistreatment they endure?

What often prevails is a dismissive attitude towards these women: for being “too weak”, for not commanding respect, for not knowing how to handle the situation, or for not leaving people who harm them.

It does not matter that many find themselves in contexts where support feels nonexistent—where they do not know how to seek help, nor whom to turn to. Society conditions women to become victims, and when they are hurt, they are blamed for not defending themselves.

Those affected are not only harmed—they are made to feel ashamed of what they experience, pushed into silence. Meanwhile, from a young age they are socialised to accept this mistreatment as something “normal”, as if the unacceptable could ever be justified.

What all these forms of harm have in common is that they target a specific group: women, simply for having been born women. And sadly, we continue to witness debates that attempt to erase our gendered identity, prioritising other agendas over the lived experiences of those who have been historically oppressed.

More women and communities are working to reverse these dynamics

Every day, more women and communities work tirelessly to transform these realities, supporting one another and building spaces grounded in respect and autonomy.

Their actions prove that collective strength can dismantle patterns that have restricted women’s freedom and dignity for centuries.

Every woman has the right to choose, to say “yes” or “no”, to forge her own path and to claim spaces where she can feel free and safe. At Skokka, we work to ensure that this right is not merely aspirational, but upheld in every interaction on our platform.

By offering a protected environment, Skokka enables more women to feel free, to express themselves and to explore new connections without fear or limitations.

True freedom is built day by day, and every user who acts with respect and responsibility strengthens our mission: to create a digital space where dignity and autonomy are fundamental.

In a world that often attempts to silence women, Skokka reaffirms that safety, trust and freedom of choice are non-negotiable. Every safe interaction is another step towards a community in which everyone can feel protected, respected and genuinely free.

When a woman feels free, she inspires others to feel free too

In many places, we are made to feel as though we must stay quiet, remain silent, avoid saying no. In other words, we are often asked to accept a reality that limits us, conditions us, and confines us to a space where our voices lose strength.

However, some things cannot be silenced, and at Skokka we are ready to speak out loud and clear: every woman has the power to reclaim her freedom, to feel ownership over her body, her choices and her life.

The daily struggle is not only against visible injustices, but also against the social pressures that attempt to dictate how we should behave, feel and live.

This 25N, we join the voices of all women who seek and build their freedom. It is not only a day of remembrance, but a moment to reaffirm autonomy, dignity and female strength every day.

Because when a woman feels free, she inspires others to feel free too—and together, we can transform society into a safer, fairer and more conscious place.

At Skokka, our commitment goes beyond words: we work to provide a safe, respectful and trustworthy environment where everyone can interact and connect freely.

Every day, we strive to implement mechanisms of protection, control and verification that prioritise the safety of our users—especially women—and minimise risk across the platform.

We believe that technology and digital communities can also serve as spaces for empowerment. By breaking the silence imposed by oppression, we not only highlight women’s struggles but also offer tools that help them feel free and secure within their working environments.

Today, on 25N, we reaffirm that every woman’s freedom is non-negotiable, and that at Skokka we will continue working so that all women can live, choose and relate without fear—with dignity and autonomy.

Every voice matters, every story counts, and every woman who gains confidence motivates us to continue creating a safer space for all.
