Skokka Receives Certificate of Recognition as Godmother Company of the Fala Mulher Association

“The Fala Mulher Association thanks the partnership and the trust placed in us in 2025 through our Godmother Company.”
It was with these words, signed by President Edwirges Lúcia Horváth, that we received one of the most meaningful recognitions in the history of Skokka Brazil: the official certificate that names us the Godmother Company of the Fala Mulher Association.

These are not just beautiful words on paper. They reflect real lives being transformed. They are stories of women who found support when they needed it most. They are families who were given the chance to start over with dignity.

And Skokka Brazil is deeply proud to be an active part of this transformation within the community.

The Meaning of This Certificate

Receiving the title of Godmother Company is not only an honor—it is a public and formal commitment. The certificate signed by President Edwirges Lúcia Horváth represents the recognition that our support has made, and continues to make, a real difference in the organization’s work.

When we read the words “The support received strengthened our work and directly impacted the lives of women and families, expanding opportunities for care, protection, and new beginnings,” we understand that we are not merely donating resources. We are investing in concrete social transformation.

This certificate symbolizes:

  • Mutual trust: Fala Mulher trusts Skokka Brazil to support its vital mission
  • Proven impact: Our support has already delivered tangible results
Long-term commitment: This is only the beginning of a lasting partnership
  • Social responsibility: We publicly assume our role as an agent of change

Who Is the Fala Mulher Association?

For more than 21 years, the Fala Mulher Association has been a powerful voice in confronting domestic violence against women. Founded in 2004 by Canadian psychologist and theologian Suzanne Marie Mailloux, the organization emerged from direct observation of the violence experienced by women and children in São Paulo.

Since then, Fala Mulher has become a national reference, offering:

  • Confidential shelter homes for women at extreme risk
  • Women’s Defense and Coexistence Centers (CDCM), providing psychological, legal, and social support
  • Legal-Social Protection and Psychological Support Centers
  • Professional training workshops in areas such as sewing, weaving, jewelry making, aesthetics, and massage therapy
  • The SOS Fala Mulher Channel, offering 24-hour assistance to women in situations of violence

The numbers are striking: by 2021, the organization had already impacted more than 25,000 women victims of violence and sheltered over 800 people in confidential safe houses. In 2021 alone, 22,769 individuals received support through group programs, workshops, and individualized services.

Why Did Skokka Choose to Support This Cause?

At Skokka, we have always upheld fundamental values: autonomy, freedom of choice, and dignity for all people. We are a platform present in 29 countries that firmly believes in every woman’s individual right to make her own decisions about her life, her body, and her future.

When we learned about the work of the Fala Mulher Association, we immediately recognized the strong alignment between our values. Like us, Fala Mulher does not judge—it welcomes. It does not impose—it empowers. It does not abandon—it strengthens.

What Unites Us?

1. Respect for Female Autonomy
We firmly believe that every woman has the right to make her own choices freely, without violence, coercion, or judgment. Fala Mulher works precisely to ensure that women have real conditions to exercise this autonomy by providing legal, psychological, and professional support.

2. Combating Social Vulnerability
We know that economic dependence is one of the main factors that keep women trapped in cycles of violence. That is why we place such high value on the entrepreneurship and professional training workshops offered by Fala Mulher—they represent real pathways to financial independence.

3. Focus on Practical Solutions
It is not enough to talk about women’s rights. Real support structures must be created. Fala Mulher does this through shelters, specialized care, and professional training.
Skokka Brazil does this by acting as a Godmother Company, contributing financially and institutionally so this work can continue and expand, generating concrete results within the community.

What Lies Ahead?

Being recognized as a Godmother Company is only the beginning of this journey. Our commitment to the Fala Mulher Association is long-term, and we intend to:

  • Promote the organization’s work so more people become aware of and support this cause
  • Explore additional forms of collaboration that amplify the social impact of both organizations
  • Inspire other companies to engage in the fight against domestic violence and in the promotion of women’s rights

More Than a Certificate: A Responsibility

The certificate we received from the Fala Mulher Association will not be forgotten in a drawer. It will remain visible, reminding us daily of the responsibility we have assumed.

Being a Godmother Company means that Fala Mulher counts on Skokka Brazil. It means that women in situations of extreme risk rely, in part, on our support to access protection, care, and real opportunities to begin again.

Because when a woman is empowered, society as a whole benefits.
And Skokka Brazil is proud to officially stand alongside the Fala Mulher Association in this transformative mission.
